In Farming Simulator 18 you need just three steps that will prepare your field for any crops or vegetables. First you have to use the tiller, then the planter (only for potatoes need a different technique). Both types of machines have their enhanced versions that improve performance (for better use of the tractor requires a full potential).

Multiple machines can work on one field – you just need to be careful that they do not block each other.

Fertilizer increases the yield by 30% but does not affect the growth rate of the crop. You can use artificial fertilizer (first, you have to fill the tank: it costs about $2800, and it can be used for fertilizer of one of the small fields) or natural – place the grass/chaff/straw in the biogas plant or give a straw to your cows/pigs, and animals to produce natural fertilizers. You should know that you can fertilize the meadows. Each stage of growth of any plant takes about 10 minutes, so to get the harvest you need to wait about 30-45 minutes.

The harvester can collect your harvest, which you can later sell or to transport to your warehouse using the truck.

Finally, when your plants grow (their color will be golden/brown), you can gather them using the harvester. Please note that by default, the cylinder can only be used to harvest wheat and canola. For corn and sunflowers need another reel (you can buy it in the store, it is available for all types of harvesters). Only for potatoes and beets need a special harvester, which is attached to the tractor. Forage harvester is an alternative to harvest – you can get chaff from corn, which then can be placed in a biogas plant and to make natural fertilizer.
